What's a Scholtenhaeim? |
A rare spider that appears to have the markings of a human face on its back has been discovered at an English nature reserve. The hairy arachnid is a lichen crab spider and is so scarce that only 41 of them have been spotted in Britain since 1890. The spidergets its name because it is usually found on lichen-covered tree trunks and its body is camouflaged to resemble its surroundings. Its Latin name is Philodromus margaritatus. Mark Singleton, who works at the RSPB nature reserve at Arne, near Wareham, Dorset, said: “This is the first one that has been found in Dorset in 35 years. It is something of a rarity. If this were a bird, the queues would be stretching round the car park. But it’s not - it’s a spider with a slightly amusing abdomen.”

Catching up on my shows. Another person is mad at me. But for what reason? I did nothing to warrant such feelings yet it happened. Again. I’m going to assume it must have been something I said or did and just change my approach from here on out. Big day manana. Can’t wait to wake up early and get started. Who needs sleep? Psh I can sleep when I’m dead. The brain only needs a minimum of 3 hours to function. Well, mine does.
Vampire flying frog found in Vietnam
An Australian scientist has discovered an unusual species of frog in southern Vietnam. The vampire flying frog uses its webbed toes to glide between treetops. But it earned its nickname because the frogs’ tadpoles have strange black fangs. Australian Museum scientist Dr Jodi Rowley, who found the frog, says it is the first time fangs have been discovered in a tadpole.
